The Devil's Helper

OK, I know this topic will not get anywhere near the number of comments or excitement the Azeri Thriller routine managed to receive; yet I just wanted to mention that a new flash story is up on Rammenas. Let me know what you think. Mother thought it was too predictable. I think it is great that she is becoming less biased.

  1. Why would the cat be irritated by a husband cheating on his wife? Isn't that a little judgmental on his part? ;-)
    Here's a funny story written as cat's diary: http://exler.ru/novels/shash.htm

Wow, someone read it! :) thank you.
Yes, judgemental...My mother thought also not kind. she thought the female would have been better off not knowing. I am not sure I agree, but that is quite a common position amongst women I think. will read your funny story now.

  5. @Gabriela: practice makes better- in theory! :)

@Nata: Funny, I had an image of a male cat in mind for some reason. No idea why.

  7. @jah t: Thanks for reading it! You know what is funny? I thought you were Azeri. I have no idea why. What nationality are you then?

  8. @ Scary,
haha! that is pretty funny! i'm American and my real name is Jayson Tufts, but i've been called by the nick ever since i was a kid...

But, you know, reading your blog made me realize that there is a tiny azeri living in a classic WASP-er me too... It was a ground-breaking revelation and a great eye-opener, and i'm very thankful to you for that.

    Cheers! jah t

  10. @Jah T: I have no idea why I assumed you were Azeri. Too funny. So what is the connection with Az then? Have you/do you work there?

@Akbar: I never heard of flash fiction before, but I enjoy it now. I also think it is a great practice. You have to create a picture from very few words and that is a good way to learn not to have too much crap in your writing! :)

  14. A he-cat can be a feminist, just as a man can be :-)

  15. @ Riyad: That story looks interesting; any chance for a synopsis that isn't written in Cyrillic?

@ Scary: Is it really common for women to not want to know? Women are so enigmatic. Do they not fear disease, or think it might be useful to know whether their husband might be thinking of leaving them? I'm comfortable with my wife; a sensible woman, she'd definitely want to know so that she could hit me.
